On Shrove Tuesday, 5th March 2019, Pancake Races will be held on the Daniel Owen Square, Mold, starting at 2pm.

Entry is free and pans, pancakes and aprons are all provided. The pancakes are being made by Spavens Sweet Shop, Mold, who are also kindly donating the prizes for the winning teams.

You are all invited to come and join in the fun!

The event, organised by Mold Town Council and Cittaslow Mold, has very simple rules – teams of four race against one another, to clock up the fastest time. Each person, wearing an apron, runs one length of Daniel Owen Square, tossing and catching their pancake 3 times. They then hand over their pan, pancake and apron to the next person in their team. There’ll be prizes for the fastest adult and children’s teams.

The skill lies not so much in the running of the race but in flipping and catching the pancake the correct number of times, all in all, great fun, even if you are just coming along to watch.

Teams can enter on the day, just before the race, however to give us an indication of number of teams, if you can, let us know if you are thinking of entering.

Whether you are racing or just coming down to support and watch the fun,
we look forward to seeing you all on the day,
